As a Free Software application developed completely by volunteer programmers across the globe, GIMP is a constantly evolving piece of software. It's tough enough to keep track of all the changes, let alone document them all in a single printed reference. Also, this book is designed primarily as a comprehensive reference to all of the features available within GIMP. References are great, but I completely understand that some people learn better when they have a little bit more tutorial-based information in their hands. It is the purpose of this appendix to describe what you can find on this web site and how to get the most out of it.

How the Site Is Organized

To make the companion web site as useful as possible, it's organized in two ways: chapter by chapter and blog-style. When you first visit the site, you're greeted with the main page. This page gives a brief description of the book and immediately proceeds to give you a chapter-by-chapter breakdown.
