After Camera Raw
As powerful as Camera Raw’s editing tools are, there will still be some edits that are possible—or much easier—to perform only in Photoshop. Obviously, any painting, rubber stamping, or other interactive brush-oriented edits have to be performed in Photoshop.
Compositing and masking operations, custom filters, special effects, CMYK conversions—these are all operations that you may need to regularly perform. In addition, there are some tonal and color corrections that are easier to perform with Photoshop’s specialized controls.
While Camera Raw provides good sharpening and noise-reduction controls, Photoshop is much more powerful in this regard, so you may want to perform your final sharpening and noise reduction in Photoshop. ...
