Moving On to Photoshop

By now, you should be realizing that Camera Raw provides an incredible amount of image-editing power, including some operations—highlight recovery and white balance correction—that can’t be performed in Photoshop itself. On many images, you’ll be able to perform all of the image editing you need within the Camera Raw window.

Some images, though, will need additional edits. If you want to perform retouching effects, you’ll need to use Photoshop’s Rubber Stamp or Healing Brush; if you want to apply plug-in filters, you’ll have to save those operations for Photoshop. Text, more-complex color correction, compositing effects, and more are all the purview of Photoshop’s expansive tool set.
