It is a good idea to start new projects by clicking on the Preferences.Initialize button to re-initialize ZBrush back to its default settings and clear out any previously loaded tools. Now we can get to work making bat wings for our little dragon.

To begin making the wings, click on the golden “S” brush icon and select the Plane3D tool from the Tool icon pop-up list. Then click the Tool.MakePolymesh3D button to convert the plane into an object we can sculpt.

Choose a different material, something white like SkinShade4 for our plane. Now draw the plane on screen while holding the Shift button so it locks into place, then immediately press T to go into Edit mode.
