My house has been an innovation lab this last year. In late 2011 my new daughter Ruchi joined our family, coming from a New Delhi orphanage at the age of six and speaking only marginal English. She gets the award for shifting perspective, making the transition from living on the street in India to a Pottery Barn bed in suburban Washington, DC, and all that entails.

My wife Laura has been my partner through it all. We are on a journey neither of us fully anticipated that is yielding the most precious of rewards: greater love for everyone involved.
