There's nothing more important to someone working in technology than resources. People just don't have the capacity to know everything, so they compensate. When they need to do something and can't recall how, they use resources to fill in the gaps.

In this chapter, I run down the top ten resources you have available to you. Some may seem obvious, and others require some capital expense, but all of them are useful. These items are not listed in any particular order of importance.

Other People

So, to be clear, I did say that these resources are all important, but this one is special. Other people are always going to be your best resource. These resources aren't limited to your colleagues, though. All kinds of people can help you. You just need to know how to use what they can tell you. You also need to develop a bond with certain people, whether it's just one of professional courtesy or a real friendship. Here's a closer look at some of the types of people you'll work with and ideas on how you can best integrate with them:
