Three-Step Promotion Plan

Promoting yourself is a necessity for your own—and your company's—future success. In order for you to advance, you must make people aware of the benefits you provide to the company. The same is true for an entire organization. When companies know about their employees' talents and assets, they can fully utilize these capabilities.

Your continued career growth and advancement will come naturally as you implement this three-step promotion plan:

1. Self-promote.

2. Promote others.

3. Others promote you.

All three of these areas will directly benefit you. The purpose of self-promotion is to make sure others know what you do and the success you've achieved. Bear in mind that the promoting process must start with you. You have to believe in yourself—what you do, your value—and be willing to share it with others. Let people know the impact you make.
