The internet has been a great boon for investors looking to gather information and it is very handy for trading shares. In the past 15 years, there has been a revolution in the way investors discover key data about a company and select shares. Prior to the online delivery of information, traders had to write to or phone a company to get a copy of the annual report; charts of share prices were only for those in the City* with a Reuters screen; it took an age for company announcements to trickle through.
