They are not that posh anymore

There is a rather old-fashioned image of a stockbroker wearing pin-stripes, bowler hat and talking with an authoritative upper-class twang. Long lunches at the club to discuss your investments are long gone. Hardly anyone wears the pin-stripe suit and most don’t even wear ties these days. They are just ordinary people (with ordinary accents) trying to provide a quality service.

So, do not be intimidated at the thought of having to initiate a conversation with these men and women. They will efficiently set you up with an account; help guide you through the technicalities of trading, and work hard to get you the shares you want at the right price. They are on your side.
