APPENDIX C

Energy Equivalents

These tables give the approximate equivalent electrical energy, in kW·h, for various primary sources of energy. We state the type of power plant in use; typical utilization efficiencies were assumed to arrive at the equivalent electricity. Actual plants may differ from these approximate values by +/−15%. For geothermal binary plants, the brine outlet temperature is very important and will strongly affect the output.
