What does it look like?

It’s a sequence of shots that brings a main character in close proximity to capturing the villain. The shot of the villain is from a distance in order to conceal his/her identity.

How’s it done?

It can be shot and edited in a variety of ways, but the key is not to reveal the identity of the villain by keeping those shots wide.

When should I use it?

Use this shot to build tension and suspense. It’s great to make the audience feel as if “they almost got him”.
