Deadly Weapon Tracking Shot

What does it look like?

This shot follows the path and motion of a weapon as it approaches a character. It could be a knife or axe thrown at someone, or a bullet shot from a gun.

How’s it done?

This shot can be done on set using a special rig for the object, or more commonly it is done as a CGI effect. It’s common to slow this shot down to prolong the time, but return to real time on impact.

When should I use it?

You can use this shot when you want to draw attention to the weapon, its unique motion path, and the deadly impact that is imminent.
