George Amaya has been doing usability work since 1989. He has a Ph.D. in cognitive psychology with a minor in social psychology from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He started in usability during graduate school, working as an intern at General Motors. Upon graduation he accepted a teaching position at Seattle University and moved to the Pacific Northwest.
