You can learn much from the Gallery just by browsing through it. To make the best use of this resource, however, read the following suggestions before you begin.

Look at the cover letters in the category that contains your field, related fields, or target occupation. Use the Occupation Index to help you find cover letters for certain fields. Notice what kinds of cover letters other people have used to find similar jobs. Always remember, though, that your cover letter should not be “canned.” It should not look just like someone else’s cover letter, but should reflect your own background, unique experiences, knowledge, areas of expertise, skills, motivation, and goals.
