So, can time travel be possible, and if so, under what circumstances? One can accept time travel into the future as explained by the work of Einstein. Imagine stepping into a spaceship that travels near light speed for 30 years to a distant planet. Finding it barren, the ship immediately turns around and returns with the same speed back to earth. About 10 years have passed on the ship, but on earth 80 years have gone by. This is called the Twin Paradox. According to people on earth, the clock on the spaceship runs slower than an identical, stationary clock; this is called time dilation.
