Maple

Maple is interactive mathematical and analytical software designed to perform a wide variety of mathematical calculations as well as operations on symbolic, numeric entities, and modeling. In this appendix, we give a general overview of Maple. For more information on Maple, visit the Maple Website: www.maplesoft.com.

A.1. Getting started and windows of Maple

When you double-click on the Maple icon, it opens as shown in Figure A.1. This figure shows Maple in the document mode. The worksheet mode is shown in Figure A.2, where the special [> prompt appears.
