Overview of Evaluation
The International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI) has long supported “the integral role of evaluation in performance technology and in the ongoing functioning of any organization.”1. In this chapter we will discuss the definition, scope, and purpose of evaluation and present several models of evaluation.

The definition of evaluation has not changed substantially since 2000 when the first edition of Fundamentals was published. What has changed is the scope of evaluation.
