Managing Projects and Media

As your project comes to a close, you’ll want to be sure to back up your assets and project files. Final Cut Pro offers several options for media management. Some techniques can be done in Final Cut Pro, and others require working in Final Cut Pro and the Finder.

How Files Are Stored

When you first create a new Event or project, files and folders are created on your hard drive. These folders are precisely set up and need to be backed up in their entirety to successfully preserve data. Files are created differently, depending on the original location selected:

Local drive. If an Event or project is on your local system, you’ll find its folders in your Movies folder in your User home folder (/Users/username/Movies/). ...
