The Leader’s Role

Developing others is the final leadership competency this book addresses. One might argue that an effective leader, accomplished in the other skills already presented, spontaneously and unconsciously helps others develop. People simply observing a leader’s behaviors are influenced. Most leaders, however, are not content with a passive role in developing others and instead choose an intentional path that actively focuses on supporting the growth and development of employees and, in many instances, the transformation of followers into leaders.
