One of the features that first drew many editors to FCP, especially those working in event programming, has been its ability to edit multiple camera clips simultaneously. There’s of course nothing like this in iMovie. The multicam function includes automatic synchronization based on audio or selected parameters like timecode. This function allows you to create a multicam clip that is a single container clip that holds all the angles you want to cut and switch between in your project. Multicam also supports mixed formats and mixed frame rates and allows for creation of a multicam clip with 48 camera angles, though more can be added.
