Chapter 3. Building Bac’n
WITH ONLY THREE weeks to build the site, we knew we had to make a few compromises. There was just no way we were going to be able to do enough planning, to have the luxury of multiple design rounds for the site, nor even to build all the functionality we’d want. We also knew that we were going to have to take every possible shortcut, and this meant using every possible web service and startup out there with services aimed at making our jobs easier.
In the past couple of years, endless startups have been created trying to solve small production problems. The big ones are sites like WordPress or Blogger, which allow you to create, launch, and publish a blog in minutes.
