About the author

Jannica Heinström is an associate professor in the Department of Information Studies at Åbo Akademi University, Finland. She has a master’s degree in psychology and a PhD in information studies. Her research interests lie in psychological aspects of information interaction, such as personality, motivation and emotion. In 2004 she was a visiting scholar at the Center for International Scholarship in School Libraries (CISSL) at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, USA. The visit was funded by grants from the Fulbright Association and the Academy of Finland.
