As you commit resources, determine if there are certain times that you simply can't or won't focus on business-network development. For example, Tuesday nights you play hockey and Sundays are family days. Write these boundaries on your focus board.

Step 5: Create Your Focus Board

Now we need to pull the above elements together to create your networking focus board. The idea is to have all of your networking activities align with your primary objective, your target market, your interests, and your resources of time and money. When an invitation crosses your desk and meets all of these criteria, then you know the activity is a good investment of your time. You can also use the focus board as a tool to be creative when filling your calendar.
