Review this list again in 24 hours. Time will give you some perspective on the worst-case scenarios and their likelihood of ever occurring or impacting your life. Once you've re-read your comments, you'll realize that things are rarely as bad as they seem at first glance.

Step 4: Fix It or Accept It

Now that we've identified what's holding you back, we need to get you out of your own way so you can build your ultimate network. To do this, you have two options to develop confidence: either fix your concerns or accept them.

What keeps us from having true confidence is our inability to fix or accept our shortcomings and ignore unjustifiable fears. This enables these perceived inadequacies and worries to hold us back from achieving optimal success.

In Steps 2 and 3, you listed all the barriers that keep you from feeling truly confident. To successfully overcome your personal hurdles, you need to find your own solutions. Look at each challenge individually.

Are you willing to accept the consequences of the worst-case scenario if it happened? If not, do you have the courage, attitude, and commitment needed to fix the very confidence zappers that keep you from connecting with others?

There are some things about ourselves that we can't fix, leaving acceptance as the only choice. For each item that you've identified as a confidence zapper, decide if you can fix it and, if not, how you can accept it and move forward.
