Talking Back: How to Respond to Posts

If everything goes according to plan, the blogosphere will be buzzing about your campaign. The bloggers you pitched will post about you and your product and others will tweet in response. Because this is the social web, responding to the chatter is important—you're building relationships, after all. You've immersed yourself in the blogosphere and have a good grasp of the language and etiquette, so you're ready to respond to posts. Here's how:

Be gracious.

When you earn a mention, don't be shy. Leave a comment thanking the blogger for noticing and noting your pitch. A short "thanks for the mention" will do. Or, if the content isn't accurate, you can cordially clarify the information along with a thank you.
