At Capulet, we work with new media folks all the time. We run online contests and handle blogger relations; we've even ghost-written a Facebook profile for, ahem, a dog.

In this section, we're opening our trunk of tricks to show you what's worked for us. We hope some of these examples will inspire you to be creative with your own social media relations campaigns. These pitches range from traditional emails to less conventional, attention-getting tactics. These examples also show that social media outreach can be pretty fun.

An "Illuminating" Email Pitch

Here's a standard email pitch that gets the point across with little fanfare, but was effective with the audience of travel bloggers we were pitching:

I'm Julie Szabo, a marketer ...
