The following steps will demonstrate how to perform status checking:
- Update the
home_server
definitions formy-org.com
andyour-org.com
to include the following directive:status_check = status-server
- To see how FreeRADIUS sends
Status-Server
packets to a dead server simply shut down the FreeRADIUS server foryour-org.com
and keep on sending authentication requests forbob@your-org.com
to themy-org.com
server:Marking home server 192.168.1.106 port 1812 as zombie (it looks like it is dead). Sending Status-Server of id 97 to 192.168.1.106 port 1812Message-Authenticator := 0x00... NAS-Identifier := "Status Check. Are you alive?"
- Start the FreeRADIUS server for
your-org.com
again in debug ...
