USING A SURVEY AS A MARKETING TOOL

Very simple online tools can be used to quickly determine what's on the minds of your prospects and followers.

Even a simple free tool like surveymonkey.com can be used to get into the minds of your customers and prospects.

Often times when I am at the point where I am unsure which project or product I should be focusing my attention on, I turn to a survey to get the answer. Not only do surveys tell me what my customers are most interested in, but I can also determine what price points I should be using by simply asking my readers their opinions.

I've often found that a good survey can also be a good marketing tool all by itself, even before I analyze the results. For example, one of the questions I might ask my reader base would be: “One of the most common requests I get is for a course on how to set-up your own automated e-mail marketing campaign. While I already sell a popular course at ListBuildingClass.com on this topic, would you be interested in a series of live call-in Q/A training sessions on that topic? If so, what would you be willing to pay in order to keep it exclusive, with a limited number of live participants?”

Sorry for the blatant promotion in that sample question, but that's the whole point. While I'm collecting usable data I'm also telling those taking the survey about the products and services I already offer.
