We started Jiffy Lube in 1978...a few college football players led by their coach (and experienced entrepreneur) Jim Hindman. We were young and inexperienced, but a hard working and dedicated group (special nod to John Saasser, Rich Heritage, Pete Clark, Craig Bourgeois, and Ann Santonastassi). Because we believed we had to grow fast, we turned to franchising and made a list of the best franchise companies in the world. We called the CEOs and asked for a meeting.
