The results from a manual testbench must be manually reviewed to determine if they are correct.

Design verifications performed this way can be slow; however, it is my option that beginners learn more from manual testbenches. While painstaking as this can be, I always found it exciting because I can explore the various features of my simulator and observe internal signal functions or other aspects of the design that may otherwise be overlooked with an automatic testbench. By using manual testbenches, I have found many design errors by being able to view internal signals that may have been overlooked. Personally, I like looking at the waveforms and internal signals, especially if I am working with someone else's code. ...
