Spherical Nearfield Acoustical Holography

7.1 Introduction

Spherical NAH encompasses two different problems. As before we have the exterior domain problem in which all the sources are contained within the measurement surface and reconstructions are obtained from the surface out to infinity. The second problem uses the interior domain in which the sources are located completely outside the measurement sphere. We have not dealt with the interior NAH problem in previous chapters. However, it offers a powerful technique which can be applied to study noise in the interiors of aircraft, automobiles and rooms, to mention just a few applications. We call these two problems exterior and interior NAH, respectively.
