The effectiveness of performance engineering depends very heavily on one’s ability to learn about the system and stakeholders’ concerns and to relate one’s analysis and recommendations to them in terms they can understand. The first step is to understand what aspects of performance matter to which stakeholders so that their concerns can be documented and articulated.
