Chapter 13. Existing Network Analysis with Discovery

This chapter covers several topics related to analyzing the existing networking environment. The Discovery process evaluates many aspects of the existing network environment and reports on potential problems.

In general, Discovery reports support and security holes that exist. Discovery uses SNMP and Cisco Discovery Protocol (CDP) to identify network devices on a network. Discovery looks at the all the Cisco hardware and software found in the network.
