Chapter 5. USING THE URLLOADER CLASS WITH XML DOCUMENTS

So far in the book, I've shown you how to work with the new XML and XMLList classes in ActionScript 3.0. You can create a new XML object declaratively, in the same way that you would create any other type of variable. While it can be useful to create XML variables with ActionScript, it's much more flexible to load XML content from an external data source, and that's the topic of this chapter.

You can load external XML content either by accessing a static XML document or by requesting data from a database.
