This chapter covers a method for animating frame by frame using Flash symbols in a manner that is closer to traditional animation techniques. Modern technology has, in many ways, eliminated much of the drudgery of doing animation in contrast to how animation was created many years ago. However, the basic techniques and thought processes at the very core of creating quality animation remain the same. In other chapters of this book, the subjects of creating character symbols, character libraries, naming conventions for symbols, and other preproduction issues will be covered in greater detail.
