4.2. Using the Paths panel

A vector shape is an outline that comprises different lines. The shape contains nodes, which define the flexibility in editing the shape for its roundness. Each of these nodes can be modified independently using the Subselection tool. These individual nodes are used to modify the contour of the shape created.

Some of the tools described previously are used to modify points, which in turn changes the shape of the object. Fireworks provides several different ways of modifying points and paths. These different means of modifying the complete vector path or individual points of the path can be found in two menu items located at Modify Combine Paths and Modify Alter Paths.
