About Michael Tobin
Michael Tobin is CEO of the data centre provider TelecityGroup plc, overseeing an expanding group of businesses across Europe. In October 2007 Michael successfully floated the company on the London Stock Exchange. It is now a major FTSE250 technology stock, the largest operator in its industry sector by revenues in Europe and the fourth provider globally.
His management techniques are both challenging and original. There is little he won't ask his team to try in order to test themselves and encourage them to think differently.
Michael is an acknowledged authority on management techniques and business leadership, regularly speaking at major forums such as TEDx and a frequent contributor on broadcast media including Sky News, CNBC and Newsnight. In the past decade Michael's career has been recognized with numerous awards for his entrepreneurship, leadership and business success. In 2013 he was nominated as Business Leader of the Year in the National Business Awards. In 2014 he was awarded an OBE for services to the Digital Economy.
An amateur magician, Michael devotes significant time and energy to philanthropic endeavours and sits on the fundraising Boards of the Prince's Trust, Action For Children, the Loomba Trust, Make a Wish Foundation and Great Ormond Street Hospital.
