So far we’ve been looking at your patterns of behaviour and techniques you can use on yourself to speed towards achieving your goals, but naturally you are also affected by the behaviour of the people around you. In this chapter you’ll find out how to overcome their negativity and gain their support.

We all need support

Not having the support of those closest to you can be a real drag on your efforts. For example, a spouse or partner or parents may be condescending or sceptical about your goals. Can you get them to change their pattern? Well, yes, but only by changing your pattern. There is a very wise saying about this: “We train other people how to treat us”.
