label: Symbols which are used to identify an item, such as a message or a file. It can form part of a message or be attached to it and contains information regarding the message, such as its nature, identification, etc.

labelling algorithm: A algorithm in which labels are used on individual nodes, the labels being updated as required. The technique is commonly used for problems such as shortest path routeing.

LADT: Local Area Data Transport.
