Color

The most primal response we have to visual stimuli is our response to color. We associate colors with an ever-shifting series of feelings and concepts, including the religious, cultural, political, social, emotional, and scientific. Yet, despite this instinctual understanding of the meaning of colors—or possibly because of it—color proves elusively difficult to use in design effectively.
