Using OpenID for authentication

OpenID allows us to use an existing account to sign in to multiple websites without the need to create new passwords for each website. Thus, this eliminates the need to share personal information with all the websites. There are certain cooperating sites (also known as relying parties) that authenticate user logins, and thousands of sites accept OpenID as an authentication mechanism.
