14. Building Buttons for Interactivity

After you master Flash Professional CS6’s drawing and animating tools, you can create movies that play from beginning to end. However, to create interactive environments that transform viewers into users, you must add interface elements that enable user control.

The most common interface element is a button. Buttons have two levels of interactivity: first, responding to user input with visual feedback—for example, changing color when the pointer enters the button area; second, carrying out tasks—such as switching to a new scene when a user clicks the button.
