5. Complex Graphics on a Single Layer

When you create complex graphic elements in Adobe Flash Professional CS6, you must consider the fact that strokes and fills interact when they are created in merge mode on the same layer. Sometimes you want that interaction, sometimes you don’t.

Think of creating a mouse’s head. Using the oval tool, draw a large blue oval fill and add two smaller blue ovals for ears. When the tool is in Merge Drawing mode and you create the ovals on one layer, they combine into a single mouse-head shape.
