What’s next for Flash journalism? No crystal ball is ever 100 percent reliable, but we can consider several factors from the present and use those to help us see ahead.

Broadband: In Canada and South Korea, more than half of the homes with Internet access have high-speed access. In the United States and some northern European countries, such as Denmark, Sweden, and Switzerland, more than 10 percent of all consumers had broadband access in 2004. By 2008, the number of business and consumer broadband subscribers worldwide will triple, to more than 325 million, according to a forecast made in July 2004 by the Yankee Group, a market research firm.
