22.3. Finding Supported Devices

Problem

You want to determine which devices support Flash Lite.

Solution

Visit Macromedia’s Mobile and Devices “Supported Devices” web site.

Discussion

The Flash Lite Player is supported on many mobile phones, and the number of supported models is increasing rapidly. Recent commitments by Nokia and Samsung to integrate the Flash Lite Player into their phones will only serve to increase the pace of penetration. There is also a Flash Player 6 version for the Pocket PC and a Flash Player 5 version for the Sony Clie.

Because the list of supported devices changes frequently, visit Macromedia Mobile and Devices “Supported Devices” web site to see which devices currently support Flash Lite:

You should also periodically check the “Device Profile Updates” web site at http://www.macromedia.com/software/flash/download/device_profiles/ so you can test your movie on the latest devices with the Mobile Emulator (see Recipe 22.2).
