Summary

In this chapter, you had the chance to better understand what is IA and how to re-organize it in order to improve navigability and findability by using IA methodologies such as card sorting, tree testing, taxonomy, and so on. We saw how important it is to label and categorize the content in order to help users find what they need and accomplish their tasks with no problem, in an easy and intuitive way based on their mental models. As shown by Rosenfeld and Morville, we must consider, besides the users, the context and the content. IA tools and deliverables such as task flow, navigation schema, content inventory, navigation flow, flowchart, sitemaps, content tree, and so on.
