The motivation for writing this book is to describe the emerging unbounded mobile communications (UMC) technology and market in a manner that is both tutorial and referential in nature, providing a knowledge base that couldn't exist until now, given the marked evolution that has taken place in the past five years. What UMC is and how it might be integrated into the consumer or enterprise ecosystem might be easily misunderstood or be confusing by simply reading the industry press.
