The Fuck-Up…

Sound places us in another world—a world that works in close conjunction with the picture but is capable of taking our ears well beyond where our eyes can go.

As discussed in Fuck-Up #41: “Sound Is Not Important,” it is a mistake to think of movies as primarily a “visual medium.” Sound is at least 50 percent of the film-going experience. And at least 50 percent of that audio experience will be created in post-production.
