It can be difficult to appreciate just how much of your life shooting a movie will take up. To give a conservative estimate, I’d say it’s safest to assume it will take up 100 percent of your life. That means that during your shooting: Forget about any other jobs you may have and make sure your family is supportive and understanding because you’ll be neglecting them. It will be difficult to find time to mow your lawn, do your laundry, or do just about anything else you think you should be doing—because shooting your movie is so thoroughly all-consuming.
