Initialization

Figure 5-13 shows the initialization procedure of an SS.

The initialization can be divided into several phases, as follows:

  • Scanning and synchronization for downlink channel— During initialization or after signal loss, the SS tries to acquire a downlink channel. For a signal-loss condition, the SS tries to reacquire the original channel from the information stored in the nonvolatile memory.
